Community search, coordinated

Find faster, together.

When you need to find a missing person or a lost animal, the key is covering the ground. Skano splits the search map into small sectors and gives each volunteer an area of their own. Everyone knows exactly where to go, the same ground is searched twice far less often, and you can see clearly where nobody has searched yet.

A person missing? Call the police first: 100 in Israel, 112 in Europe. Skano coordinates the volunteers.

Built for the people who show up

In the first hours, where you search matters

Hundreds of people come to help. Without a shared picture they walk the same streets near the last-seen spot again and again, and the places further out wait.

Same people, same hour

Without coordination

17 areas covered

The same ground searched over and over. Gaps nobody notices.

With Skano

70 areas covered

Each area goes to one person. The map shows what is covered and what is still open.

Illustrative simulation, not measured performance. Green means covered by a recorded route. It doesn’t guarantee that everything inside was seen.

How it works

  1. 1

Mark where they were last seen

The organizer drops a pin. Skano draws the search area and splits it into small areas, the most likely first.

  2. 2

    Share the link

A link or QR code to the family chat, the neighbourhood group, the scouts. Volunteers join in seconds.

  3. 3

    Search together, live

Each volunteer walks one small area at a time. The organizer sees what is covered, the reports, and an instant “Found!” alert.

Inspired by a real search

Ashkelon, July 2026

A 4-year-old wandered off a crowded beach at noon. Hundreds of people searched, many of them near the water, again and again. He was found the next afternoon, about 5.5 km north in the dunes. Searches like this are why we built Skano: one shared map, each area to one person, and a clear picture of what is still open.

Inspired by a real incident. The two maps are illustrations, not real search data, and say nothing about when anyone would have been found.

Example

A dog that slipped her lead

23 neighbours, 64 small areas, 1 h 40 min. Found hiding under a car two streets away, in an area nobody had checked yet.

Example

A grandfather who went for a walk

Family, neighbours and friends, after the police were called. 41 volunteers and 120 areas by evening, and the police knew exactly which streets had been checked.

Example

Car keys on the beach

Friends split a stretch of sand into 20 m areas. 9 people, 35 minutes, keys found in area 31.

Searching responsibly

A search is about a real person or animal, and the people who love them. Skano is built for that.
